Frequently asked questions

It is important to note that nothing “protects” against Covid-19. You can only reduce the risk of contamination through a combination of hygiene measures: wearing a face mask, good hand hygiene, social distancing and so on. Just because you are wearing a face mask, even a medical face mask, does not mean that you cannot get infected through your eyes. Or by carelessly taking off your mask. So the answer is simply “no”.

What is the use of your filters? Our tested filters do something. For example, our SP70 filters up to 72% of the particles up to 0.3 micron, and 99,9% of the particles up to 3.0 micron. So it can reduce the risk. Please note, Breezy is not a medical face mask but a comfort mask. Wearing a face mask is important to prevent the spread of the virus.

Is the virus not being spread through the valves? There is 1 test that says it all: the test with the candle. Hold a lighted candle out in front of you, with your Breezy on. Now blow as hard as you can. The flame will not move. Now hold the candle in front of or along the valves. Try to blow out the flame … Can’t you? Then you have a well-functioning mask. Is it working? Then your mask makes little sense. Breezy face masks have been developed with valves to support you with a performance. The valve will open when there is a need due to overpressure. However, the rubber membrane in the valve ensures that it does not become an “open hole”, but the air flow is largely broken. The amount of air that is released as a result is negligible and can be compared with “leakage” that you would have along the sides with another type of comfort mask. A whole part also simply passes out through the filter in the opposite direction.

Breezy is the result of weeks of product development. Of course we started on an existing design concept. In Asia this type of mask already existed as in another form. Asia wouldn’t be Asia if you didn’t find everything there, and everything in 100 different versions. Do you want wireless earphones for your mobile phone with your own brand name? In your bus next week.

What have you “developed” then?

In the first instance we tested the different materials. From the valves, the nose bridge and the rivets to the thread, elastics and velcro. We then tackled the sizes to create a “one size fits all” small, medium and large to European standards. We then tested various filters, both in terms of efficiency and composition, as well as feeling for the skin and the production process. We then started work on the certifications (testing in the labs according to applicable European standards). Finally, the 2-language packaging (Dutch and French) and a 4-language manual (Dutch, French, English and German) that contains all the information you need for safe and comfortable use of your Breezy.

And the difference?

You run the risk of ending up in the classic dropshipping story. You order from a seemingly Belgian or European supplier, but who order directly in China. Delivery time takes weeks, transport costs have to be paid extra, and if you are unlucky, import duties, customs costs and VAT will be added unforeseen. Then you are also not sure whether the size will be correct, what the quality of the filter, nose bridge and finish is, there is often no packaging and certainly no multilingual manual. These masks are often not European certified or tested such as Breezy that is “Covid-19 approved”. So be sure to pay attention to the details.

Check before use

Before use, check the mask including all parts for damage. If the mask shows any damage (poor connection, tears, holes, deformation, wear, or other), the mask can no longer be used and must be replaced.

Step 1: Wash your hands with soap and water before touching it.
Step 2: Check the mask for any damage and replace the filter or valves if necessary.
Step 3: Hold the mask with the deformable bridge up and the filter side in.
Step 4: Hold the two ear loops, insert your chin into the mask, and gently pull them towards you. Hook them behind the ears so that you can then attach the headband (if available). Position the mask so that it covers the nose, mouth and chin.
Step 5: Adjust the bridge of the nose to the shape of your nose. Do not touch the mask afterwards. Tip: It is recommended to wear the mask on bare skin as wearing a beard can reduce filtration efficiency beyond the intended limits.

Take off BREEZY

Step 1: Wash your hands with soap and water before handling the mask.
Step 2: Do not touch the front of the mask, it may be contaminated. Only touch the ear loops and headband.
Step 3: Hold the two ear loops, loosen the headband and gently lift to remove the mask.
Step 4: Store the mask in a closed container, separated from each other or in a closed laundry basket, and follow the maintenance procedure.
Step 5: Wash your hands with soap and water before touching anything else.

Close the velcro on the headband (if present) so that no more velcro is visible. Wash Beezy after each use with a neutral detergent without fabric softener, and separate with an added ballast (eg. an old bath towel) to generate a mechanical cleaning action. No dry cleaning. For disinfection, a temperature of at least 60 ° C should be maintained during washing (if possible – otherwise cooking wash) for 30 minutes. Wash your hands after putting Breezy in the washing machine. Let it dry before new use. Guaranteed compliance for up to 10 wash cycles.

Filters & Valves

The filters and valves are replaceable and interchangeable. After each intensive use of the mask, it is recommended to let it dry out of the mask. Service life is closely linked to the intensity of use and maintenance. Never use filters or valves that show signs of wear or damage. Replace the filters after 1 month of use at the latest. The filters and valves must not be washed.

Before use, check the mask including all parts for damage. If the mask shows any damage (poor connection, tears, holes, deformation, wear, or other), the mask can no longer be used and must be replaced.

European norm “Community face coverings CWA 17553:2020″

Filter efficiency to 3 (± 0,5) μm particles: 99,9% (Cat.1)
Filter efficiency to 0,3 μm particles: 62% – 72% (EN13274-7:2019)

This community face mask is not a medical device within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (surgical masks) or Directive 93/42 / EEC, nor a personal protective device within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 (respiratory protection equipment).

This community mask does not replace hygiene measures (such as regular hand washing, social distancing, reducing contact with other people). It adds a physical barrier that allows the user to protect his environment from the projection of particles. It can also provide the user with limited protection against infectious agents. In order to protect your health and that of others, it is very important to follow the user manual. If you are ill, this mask is not suitable, ask your doctor for advice. This mask is not intended for use by medical personnel.
